In the past three weeks we watched captain underpants the movie was really funny. We also decorated our faith jurnolses that was fun. I've made some new friends and I hope others make new friends to! I think this year is going to be AMAZING!!!!! :D
OK, so last year's class blog fizzled out by November...my bad! I am really going to have to make an effort to schedule in some time for students to get a chance to blog about what we have been doing in class! Maybe I will have to make it a weekly class job that a student can sign up for!
That will be one of the first orders of business during our class meeting on Friday.
That being said, I am ready for a new year here at St. Teresa of Calcutta School. Last year was so amazing and I know that this year will be just as fantabulous!
I have already had the opportunity to meet some of the 3/4 students and parents when they came in for our informal meet and greet and supply drop off. That sure helped lessen some of my own first day jitters! Even though I have been teaching for at least a decade, I still get a little nervous at the start of every new school year. Meeting some of the kiddos and their parents (and getting a head start on organizing the mountains of supplies) really gave me a shot of that back to school adrenaline that I was needing.
My team teaching group and I were also very fortunate getting to meet with our classroom families a little earlier this year because we had some exciting news to share with them. Our class numbers had risen so high over the summer break that we will be adding a new member to our team this fall! How exciting, but also how overwhelming. This means some shuffling around of our homerooms and re planning, but in the long run it is going to be beneficial for our students.
So, it is already shaping up to be an exciting year in room 1023!
Hopefully I will remember to have the students blog about our year together!
This week has been a really good for us.This week I have learned more about the regions in Alberta I can remember some of the regions we live in the grasslands, parkland,we have a little bit of the Canadian shield. On Thursday we went to a Shrek at St. Francis it was a really good performance.
During Faith,we were listening to music and it stopped and Mrs. Greeno asked if I wanted to share the song I wrote. I said "Sure! Why not!" I had fun. Grade four is amazing!
On the weekend me and my friends had a sleepover. We went to the park and we went biking. My friends came because it was my birthday. On the 25 of September I went to another birthday party.Me and my friends went biking down this ramp.It was really fast.We went on my trampoline and jumped. My parents bought me a new ipad for my birthday.
First day of school was really good I loved it and it was kinda like college for me and Adriana she's my best friend now and we sit beside each other is that cool and some of my friends are in the same class as me and two of my friends were in the last class in St. Paul School neat huh
I think thats it for today!
Hi and welcome to a brand new school and school year! I am excited to be part of this wonderful new learning community.
I really enjoyed my summer break, taking part in the City of Lethbridge's Park Passport, doing many day trips around southern Alberta and enjoying some camping trips, my favourite being our trip to Drumheller.
However, part of me was just itching to get into our new school and get ready for the new year. Now, I am set up and ready to get back into a routine! I hope you all had a relaxing and recharging summer break as well.
Even after 10 years of teaching I am still nervous to go back! Its always exciting to start a new year, full of possibilities and new experiences, especially in a new school!
As the school year starts, please feel free to come by our room and say hello. I would love to meet you and begin building new friendships with my classroom families.
This will probably be my first and last blog post on this site, as the students will be blogging here to tell of their experiences in Grade 3/4. Keep tuned in, because I for one, cannot wait to hear what they have to say!
